Vaccinations

 

Here at Briawell we choose to vacinate our entire herd woth the Glanvac 6 n 1 vaccine for goats. They get their first shot, then 4 weeks later recieve the booster. We then vaccinate the goats yearly.

Kids are done at 6-8 weeks of age and again 4 weeks later close to when they ae weaned. We also try and line up the girls  vaccines for 3-4 weeks before they kid. This means that the kids will be covered until they are 6-8 weeks old. The bucks are vaccinated coming into spring each year.

We choose to vaccinate every 6 months. The bucks are done coming into spring and then in Autumn. Our does are done one month before kidding an then 6 months later.  

The Vaccine covers:

• Cheesy Gland

• Enterotoxaemia (pulpy kidney disease)

• Tetanus

• Black disease

• Malignant oedema
