Worming

There are many different types of wormers available. We have had success using Zolvixs wormer and Caprimec wormer. We have also used Panacur on younger goats as a 5 day course.

The best way to worm is to get a fecal performed on your goats so you know what worms you are fighting and not just worming them when they dont need it. If goats are just wormed on a schedule they can become resistant to wormers and then that type of wormer will no longer work on your herd. Also, some may need to be wormed more frequently and if not they can become sick and die from a worm overload.

Another good indicator for worming is the Famacha scale. This does not work for all worms though. It is a good indicator for Barbers pole worm.
